Position: Prep Cook / Cook

Location: Lula Wine Bar & Bistro, Driggs, ID

Reports to: Kitchen Supervisor or General Manager


Job Summary: As a Prep Cook / Cook at Lula Wine Bar & Bistro, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen, assisting in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes that complement our curated wine selections. Your attention to detail and culinary skills will help maintain our commitment to exceptional food and service, ensuring a delightful dining experience for our guests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and measuring, to ensure that all dishes are ready for cooking.

  • Cooking Duties: Cook and assemble menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring quality and consistency.

  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation styles, to assist in guest inquiries and special requests.

  • Inventory Management: Help monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure the freshness of ingredients.

  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices in compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including the Head Chef, to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the care and maintenance of kitchen equipment, ensuring it is clean and in good working order.

  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Follow all safety and food handling procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a prep cook or cook in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred.

  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to follow recipes and adhere to food safety guidelines.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Full-time and part-time positions available.
