Position: Kitchen Supervisor / Lead Cook (full-time)
Location: Lula Wine Bar, Driggs, ID
Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary: As the Kitchen Supervisor / Lead Cook at Lula Wine Bar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will oversee kitchen staff, manage food preparation, and maintain inventory levels while upholding our commitment to quality and exceptional service. Your leadership and culinary expertise will help create a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Kitchen Staff: Lead and manage kitchen team members, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
Food Preparation: Assist in cooking and preparing menu items to ensure timely service and consistent quality, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
Inventory Management: Help manage inventory levels, including monitoring stock, conducting regular inventory checks, and placing orders for food and supplies as needed.
Quality Control: Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to health and safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with the General Manager to develop new menu items, enhance existing offerings, and implement seasonal changes.
Staff Scheduling: Assist in scheduling kitchen staff to meet operational needs, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and address any customer feedback or concerns.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a supervisory or lead cook role, preferably in a restaurant or wine bar setting.
Strong culinary skills and a solid understanding of food preparation techniques.
Some knowledge of wine for creating food pairings a plus.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a team effectively.
Strong communication skills and a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Full-time, part-time and seasonal positions available.
